ESPN

It’s with great sadness that I must tell you that today will be the last episode of “Rattling the Cage with Tony Reid” on ESPN 92.3 WVSL.

Without getting into the nuts and bolts of it, the company that (now) owns the station(s) that my show is broadcast on is changing directions in many ways. I was offered a short term solution/ opportunity but I just can’t see that as a legitimate part of my vision for what we have done and will continue to do.

Now to the sappy sap…

Mark Roberts-Thank you so much for believing in me, in my vision and giving me the opportunity to do this crazy show in the first place. Without you being on board and hearing me out this show would have never left the ground floor. I appreciate everything you have done for me over the past few years. Thanks for always being in my corner. Thank you for allowing me to have a voice and a platform to hear it on.

Chad Evans- My man. You are an inspiration on many levels. I appreciate all the airtime, the guidance, the laughs, the knowledge dropped but mostly the laughs, yeah the laughs. I have no doubt that you will continue to do what you were built to do. Kick ass on every media platform. You are the man. Thank you just isn’t enough but…Thank you.

“The Hoss”, Kyle Alexander, the late great Trophy Michaels and every on-air personality that gave this goofy guy that talks about stuff you don’t know and don’t care about a few minutes of your time and knowledge…Thank you.

There is so much that goes on behind the scenes (and at different locations) than what we all hear on the airwaves. There are so many great people that have had my back for a long time now. Nick Shoemaker, thanks for all the in office time, the times I’ve needed your technical guidance, the MP3’s, wavs, the files, the random storage devices and all the technical, in station stuff. Thanks and Buh bye. And for the love of all that is holy, don’t buy that damn fox. It will eat your throat out as you sleep.

To my in studio co-horts,the guys that have been around from early on (in more ways than one) John Vovakes and Adam Renn, thank you for both being as passionate about this thing as I am. You guys help make the show what it is each and every week. I mean that in a good way, by the way.

Of course, thank you to all the great athletes that made our show worth listening to. Literally, hundreds of high level fighters and other talented people within the MMA community and sports world have been so kind and giving of their time that I am humbled when I stop and think about it. Thank you all!

Last and definitely not least, thank you so much to the loyal listeners. I do this for you. I like to say that I try to bring a world class show to you here in Central PA every time out. I hope you have felt the same way. I love you all…all four of you.

So that’s it. Over the past few years I’ve had more fun Tuesday afternoons from 4-6 PM than I can even tell you here. It’s been a dream come true. A dream that’s not ending just yet. Stay tuned.
